Just a little something about me. I love this country and the basic freedoms and rights it was founded on, the most important to me being that all people are created equal. In today’s society, there’s no reason why anyone should be discriminated against and yet, there are still people who are treated as second class citizens. I believe that a lot of the narrow mindedness in today’s society is born out of ignorance and one of my goals is to promote a better understanding of some of the current issues we face. We can complain all we want, but if we’re not willing to stand up for what we believe in and fight for our rights, nothing will ever get accomplished. That’s why I started this blog, to encourage people to get involved and make a change.

I’ll be posting once to twice a week and my posts will focus on current human rights issues. I encourage discussion, so please feel free to comment. If you don’t agree with something I write, that’s fine. One of the greatest things about this country is the freedom we have to express our opinions. Rather than just saying you don’t agree with me (or writing a more strongly worded comment), I’d appreciate a more in depth reason as to why you disagree. That’s the purpose of this blog, to create a forum that encourages open dialogue and to promote a better understanding of the issues we face.
